
HR Hero product updates: what’s new in Q3 2025
Over the past quarter, we’ve been working behind the scenes to make the Employee Handbook Builder more intuitive, transparent, and aligned with the way HR teams actually work. Starting as early as August 31, you’ll begin to see these enhancements go live in your experience. These changes are built to support the way HR teams work, making it easier to create, manage, and maintain compliant handbooks with confidence.

To make navigation and day-to-day tasks more efficient, the dashboard has been redesigned with usability in mind. Key tools and activity tracking are now easier to access and manage, giving you more control and clarity throughout the handbook process.

- Easily add/remove states and leave internal notes
- Access quick actions like preview, print, and publish in one place

Streamlined 4-step build process
Creating and maintaining a handbook is now more straightforward with a simplified four-step process. Each stage is designed to guide you through setup, customization, and publication with clarity and flexibility.
Here’s how the updated workflow breaks down:
- Configuration: Customize font, colors, title page, and logo
- Questionnaire: Answer compliance-driven prompts to tailor content by state and federal laws
- Policy Management: Drag-and-drop reordering, add/remove sections, view applicable policies
- Publication: Preview and publish with options like scheduled release, PDF download, Spanish translation, and employee-facing QR code
Powerful editing tools
Making updates is easier with new editing tools designed to save time and reduce manual work. These features give you more precision and visibility when managing policy content:
- Global Find & Replace: Quickly update terms across the entire handbook
- Live editing with tagged policy variables and real-time status indicators
- Policy tagging from Jackson Lewis (e.g., required, strongly recommended, best practice)
Publication and notification enhancements
Finalizing and sharing your handbook is now more flexible, with added options for how and when content is published. New notification features also help ensure your team stays informed about important updates:
- Publish instantly or schedule for later
- Generate evergreen QR codes for employee access
- Automatic alerts for policy changes via email and in-platform notifications
