Course description

Operators who work at retail gas stations face significant hazards for themselves, the public, and the environment due to the underground storage tanks (USTs) that store petroleum and hazardous substances at their facility. Operators are categorized into three classes, Class A, Class B and Class C. This training course is for new and existing Class C UST Operators working at service or gas station facilities.

In addition to their typical responsibilities, such as controlling or monitoring the dispense and sale of gas, Class C operators are also responsible for taking appropriate action and notifying the authorities in response to emergencies and alarms caused by spills or releases from an UST.

This training course will help Class C UST operators recognize safety features of USTs, identify emergency situations quickly, and take appropriate action to prevent injuries and environmental damage.
