Course description
Formaldehyde is a toxic chemical compound that can cause serious health effects and is commonly used in laboratory operations. This training session is meant for employees working in laboratories or other environments where formaldehyde is present and who may be exposed to a formaldehyde concentration of 0.1 parts per million or higher. The main purpose of this session is to help you work safely with or around formaldehyde.

Learning objectives:
At the completion of this course, the participant will be able to:- Identify the hazards posed by formaldehyde
- Recall how to access information about the hazards posed by formaldehyde and how to control them
- Identify the toxicological effects of formaldehyde exposure
- Recognize engineering controls and other measures that may be used at your facility to protect workers from the hazards posed by formaldehyde
- Recall the appropriate emergency response procedures you will need to follow in the event of an emergency involving formaldehyde
