Sexual harassment is a form of illegal employment discrimination and both employee and supervisor training is mandatory. Additionally, sexual harassment creates a negative work environment and interferes with effective job performance. It also undermines trust and respect, which makes good working relationships impossible. This library will help employees understand what is and isn’t sexual harassment and their role in preventing and responding to it and help supervisors to recognize sexual harassment, address incidents and claims, and take action to prevent sexual harassment in the future. The library also includes bystander intervention training. Being the target of harassment or other inappropriate behavior can leave people feeling isolated and alone. When bystanders step up to take any action, it can make the targets feel supported, empowering them to takes steps to report the harassment. This library provides information about bystander intervention, including intervention strategies, how to know when to intervene, and how to intervene safely as well as multiple scenarios reinforcing those concepts.
