Library description

Study after study shows that diversity in the workforce pays off in myriad ways. But that’s only true when employees can work together in a way that respects the value of varied perspectives. The “Ground Rules” segment of the Diversity Microlearning library trains employees on what is expected in regard to acting professionally and respectfully as well as coaching on open and active communication. Employees will also learn how to recognize and respond to microaggressions, handle conflict in a positive way, and what it means to be an ally. The Neurodiversity segment introduces the concepts of neurodiversity and how typical workplaces can be difficult for neurodivergent employees. Employees will learn strategies for collaborating with neurodiverse co-workers and how to recognize and avoid common neurodivergent microaggression and how to be an ally to neurodivergent colleagues. The Race segment includes an explanation of institutional racism vs interpersonal racism, common microaggressions (that many don’t understand are racist) and strategies for being an anti-racist ally. The LGBTQIA+ segment explains the concepts of gender, gender identity, and gender expression and how to act professionally and professionally even when an employee might not understand another person’s gender identity or expression. Employees will also learn common microaggressions used against LGBTQIA+ people and why they are to be avoided.
