PPE: Hand Protection
Course description
Hands are among the most frequently used and most vulnerable parts of the body at the workplace, making them highly susceptible to cuts, abrasions, burns, punctures, crushes, and other injuries. Fortunately, these injuries can be prevented if workers are able to recognize the hand hazards they are exposed to and know how to properly use and maintain hand protection.
This course is for all employees required to wear hand protection.
Compliance:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) PPE standard at 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.132(f)(2) requires employees to demonstrate an understanding of the training and the ability to use PPE properly. While OSHA doesn’t explicitly mandate hands-on training, practical demonstration and evaluation are often necessary to ensure compliance and effectiveness of the training.

- Choose the appropriate gloves for work tasks
- Properly wear, remove, and maintain hand personal protective equipment (PPE)
