Hazard Communication for Healthcare Workers

Course description

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s, or OSHA’s, Hazard Communication, or HazCom, Standard, which is also referred to as the workers’ “Right-to-Know” standard, makes sure that employees, including healthcare workers, know all about the possible dangers of hazardous chemicals that they may come into contact with and gives them the information they need to protect themselves from those hazards. Employers are required to provide workers with this information for the hazardous chemicals present in their workplace.
This training course informs healthcare workers on how to recognize hazards, how to protect themselves, and how to interpret critical information designed to make their workplace safer.

Compliance:
To supplement this training course, employers must train employees on the physical, health, and other hazards associated with the hazardous chemicals in their work area and how employees may protect themselves from those hazards to comply with 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.1200(h). Employers must also provide employees with the details of the facility’s HazCom program and where the program is located.
