Unfortunately, there have been many situations where it has been shown that when an emergency occurred at the workplace employees didn’t get the information they needed to take appropriate action to protect their safety. Important information is often either not communicated effectively or not at all. As a supervisor, your job includes communicating emergency information to your employees. How effectively you communicate could make a big difference to the safety of your employees. This course is designed to help you learn how to communicate effectively in emergencies—whether they occur in the workplace or, like weather emergencies, they take place outside but affect the workplace and employees’ ability to get to work.

This course focuses on the information supervisors need to carry out their duties under their facility’s emergency action plan, or EAP, and examine key issues such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, requirements; emergency evacuation procedures; employee training; and emergency response assignments.
